Pensacola’s Devon Witherspoon Signs NIL Deal with Digital Collectibles Platform
New site allows fans to support him and other athletes
Chicago, IL, TBD, 2022 – Pensacola resident and University of Illinois football defensive back Devon Witherspoon has officially signed a ‘name, image, likeness’ (NIL) deal with NextName which offers fans the opportunity to support him through the sale of his personal digital collectibles, also known as non-fungible tokens (NFT). The collectibles are robust media files with images, music, school logo, and playing statistics. Witherspoon directly receives the majority of proceeds from the sale of his digital collectibles. NextName is excited to welcome Witherspoon to the platform and invites fans to show their support by purchasing his digital collectibles here:
Devon Witherspoon - NextName
A quick master of the game, Devon Witherspoon did not start playing football until his junior year in high school. He quickly began earning accolades and was named the 2018 Pensacola News Journal Defensive Player of the Year, 2018 Pensacola News Journal All-Area first team, and 2018 Pensacola News Journal Male Athlete of the Year for overall production in three sports: football, basketball, and track. He has continued contributing to the Illinois defensive efforts putting up impressive numbers in sacks, tackles, and leading Illinois with nine pass breakups last year, while earning an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention.
